The Indian Meteorological Department, on the 4th of July, issued a rain alert for Andhra Pradesh and its adjacent areas.

On Monday, the IMD said, as the surface trough over Bangladesh moved northwestward and centered over south Jharkhand on Sunday, the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh and its coastal region would witness heavy to moderate rainfall for the next two days.  The rainfall is in the view of low pressure and strong winds from the Arabian Sea over central India. The weather situation also led to the expansion of the coastal trough on the west coast.

Due to this effect, Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh would receive rainfall along with thunderstorms, on the 5th and the 6th of July, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari, Kakinada, Konaseema, Krishna and NTR districts are already witnessing rainfall for the past 24 hours.  In some areas, trees were broken due to rain and strong winds, and low-lying areas are flooded amid rain situation.
