An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Adityanath Das, is likely to take charge as the Chief Secretary (CS,) of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) decided to appoint Mr. Das, as the tenure of Neelam Sawhney, the outgoing CS of A.P., is scheduled to come to a close at the end of December.

On the 10th of December, the news of Mr. Adityanath Das as the new CS made headlines.

However, an official announcement regarding the appointment of Mr. Das is yet to be made.

The Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP Government would issue an official notification regarding the same after Ms. Sawhney’s tenure completion.

Ms. Sawhney was supposed to retire as the State CS, on the 30th of June.

However, she got two extensions as the Chief Secretary, one is June and another in October.

The YSRCP Government granted her the extensions following a request made by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Neelam Sawhney’s tenure as the State CS ends on the 31st of December 2020.
