Guntur: MP Galla Jayadev’s comments at his farewell ceremony on Sunday sparked a major controversy. Jayadev commented that he was targeted by the state and union government for questioning the center over special category status. Jaydev said that his business was badly affected by these consequences.

The MP also said that he would have escaped the harassment if he left Telugu Desam and joined another party. Jayadev asserted that he cannot kill his self respect by leaving the party which encouraged him.

Jayadev said that he was unable to manage both business and politics parallelly. He announced that he wants to take a break from politics and focus on business.

TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh said that the doors of his party are always open for Galla Jayadev. “Jayadev is a man of self respect. He is the first leader to agitate in favor of Amaravati farmers. He will be remembered by the people of Guntur forever,” Lokesh added.
