Vijayawada: AP Housing minister Jogi Ramesh requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure that people who voted at Telangana assembly elections not cast their vote in Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. Ramesh sent a representation to ECI and alleged that people from Khamma community have votes in more than one state.

Addressing media Ramesh said that around 4.31 lakh voters from AP had casted their vote at Telangana and they are again trying to cast their vote register vote at AP which is not acceptable.

“We have requested the chief electoral officer (CEO) of AP, Mukesh Kumar Meena to ensure that no doubling of voters happens in the state. We brought some double entries into the notice of ECI. YSRCP is against the double entries in voter lists and we will continue to pressurize the EC on this,” Jogi Ramesh said.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam also complained over the double entries especially at constituencies which share a border with Telangana. TDP Vijayawada parliament incharge Nettem Raghuram complained to NTR district collector S Dilli Rao about the Telangana voters who also have vote at Nandigama, Tiruvuru and Mylavaram constituencies.
