Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, met with the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi.

On the 22nd of August, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy held a meeting with PM Narendra Modi and discussed various issues in the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh.   Of the topics, the Polavaram Project was the top issue on the list of matters to be discussed with Mr. Narendra Modi.

According to sources, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy highlighted the pending funds for the Polavaram project, promised by the Central Government and asked for the sanction of the bills of the Polavaram irrigation project and the rehabilitation of the displaced persons.  In addition, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) President Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also asked to implement the guarantee of the Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Act.  

It is to be noted, the YSRCP has been maintaining a very friendly relationship with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government, since the YSRCP came into power in Andhra Pradesh, after winning the State Assembly elections in May 2019.

After meeting Mr. Narendra Modi, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also met Mr. R.K. Singh, the Union Power Minister.

Later in the day, at 6:00 P.M., the Andhra Pradesh CM Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is also scheduled to have a courtesy meeting with the newly elected President of India Ms. Draupadi Murmu.
