Officials from the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) arrived at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) headquarters in Mangalagiri to issue notices to the party’s general secretary.

On the 11th of April, the CID officials issued the notices were served to a lawyer present at the location. The CID officials were investigating articles published in Chaitanya Ratham, a magazine affiliated with the TDP. The officials reportedly sought information on the editor and management of the magazine.

The notices were issued under Section 91 CrPC in relation to a story published in the magazine on November 23 of last year. Further details on the matter are currently awaited.
