As  the Novel Coronavirus increases day by day, Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) urged Muslims to offer Ramadan prayers at home.

On the 23rd of April, Chandrababu Naidu took to Twitter and appealed to all the Muslims in Andhra Pradesh  to pray at home during the Ramadan month as the Coronavirus infection spreads across the state rapidly.

In his tweet, Chandrababu said, “Congratulations to the Muslim brothers who started fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.  Restrict your prayers at home and spend the month of initiation safely.  The welfare of all humanity is to be the epitome of holy initiation in Ramadan.”

Recently, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) also had a similar request, urging Muslims to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan at home.

Considering the current scenario, social gatherings and praying in a group would be prohibited.  Many religious leaders also created awareness of the spread of the Novel Coronavirus and asked people to offer Namaz 5 times at home with their families.

It is predicted, any kind of social gathering, community festival and congregation would be prohibited for a while as a precautionary measure to control the spread of the virus.

The holy month of Ramadan began from the 23rd of April, Muslims across India would keep a fast for a month and offer prayers.  However, this year  due to the pandemic illness, Ramadan would be different for Muslims as they would spend the time under lockdown and would follow social distancing.
