On the 18th of January, Wednesday, Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) paid tribute to the late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR.

On Wednesday, Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu visited NTR Ghat and paid floral tributes marking the occasion of the 27th death anniversary of the late NTR, the founder of the TDP.

On the occasion of NTR’s death anniversary, the TDP Chief said, “NTR has created history as a great actor and public leader.”  He further added, “NTR is the pioneer of public welfare governance and welfare schemes.”

Praising the works of Mr. N.T. Rama Rao, Mr. Nara Chandrababu  Naidu said that NTR has set a new direction for national politics, which paved the way for the establishment of several welfare schemes in Andhra Pradesh.  He further assured that the TDP would work and achieve NTR’s ambition in the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh.

Besides Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Nandamuri family also paid tribute to the late NTR.  The Hindupur Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Mr. Balakrishna remembered his father and paid tributes to NTR.    Mr. Nandamuri Balakrishna said, “He (NTR) has given political life to many leaders across the state.” 

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (when Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were one state,) passed away on the 18th of January 1996.
