The Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI) has issued a summons to Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy, the Kadapa Member of Parliament (MP) to appear before them.

The summon has been issued for questioning on Monday, the 17th of April, at 3:00 P.M., in Hyderabad.   He has been summoned in the murder case of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, which is now being probed by the Hyderabad CBI.

Notably, in 2019, Mr. Vivekananda Reddy, the uncle of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was stabbed to death at his residence in Pulivendula.  The major reason behind the murder is said to be the 2019 Assembly elections, in which Mr. Vivekananda Reddy was contesting on the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) ticket.

The notice was sent to Mr. Y.S. Avinash Reddy on Sunday evening, the 16th of April.  The summon came hours after the CBI arrested his father, Mr. Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy and produced him before a CBI court magistrate on the same day, the 16th of April, Sunday.

This is not the first time that the CBI has questioned Mr. Y.S. Anivash Reddy in connection with the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy.

The CBI has sought the magistrate’s permission to take Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy into custody for 10 days for questioning.

Meanwhile, Mr. Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy’s counsel is expected to submit their counterclaims in response to the CBI’s custody plea on Monday, whereas questioning of Y.S. Avinash Reddy is to begin shortly.
