In Andhra Pradesh, a case has been registered against a former state minister Mr. Prathipati Pulla Rao.

On the 15th of May, Sunday, the  Municipal supervisor of Andhra Pradesh Ms. Kodirekka Sunitha filed a case at the Urban station.  Furthermore, the former minister Mr. Prathipati Pulla Rao allegedly defamed the town planning supervisor in the name of caste.  The inappropriate casteism remarks were made during the NTR Sujala drinking water scheme launch event at Chilukurpet of Palnadu district.  Notably, the TDP leader Mr. Prathipati Pulla Rao was re-launching the NTR Sujala Drinking Water Scheme.  However, Ms. Kodirekka Sunitha stopped them from re-launching the scheme, saying it has not been approved by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government led by Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.  Upset over the obstruction to launching the scheme, which was once implemented under the leadership of Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the then (2014-2019) Chief Minister of A.P., the TDP leaders staged ‘dharna’ and made inappropriate casteist remarks against the YSRCP leader.

After the heated argument and ruckus, the YSRCP leader Ms. Kodirekka Suitha registered a case against the TDP leader Mr. Prathipati Pulla Rao.  A case has been registered under the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe ( ST-SC) Prevention of Atrocities Act sections 323, 34, 353,506, and 509 sections.  Besides Mr. Prathipati Pulla Rao, many other Telugu Desam Party leaders were booked in the case.  Other major accused in the incident are Mr. Madhav Mohan, Mr. Bandarupalli Satyanarayana, TDP Council leader Mr. Srinivas Rao and Mr. Karimullah.
