A horrific incident unfolded at the popular Egyptian resort of Hurghada when a 23-year-old tourist was mauled to death and eaten by a shark as the onlookers watched in horror.

The video, now in wide circulation, shows the man screaming for his father as he was being pulled underwater by the shark several times.

Getting into the details of the incident, the man, believed to be Vladimir Popov, was killed by a tiger shark in the waters when he was out on a swim on Thursday. His distraught girlfriend managed to escape, whereas the man was caught in the grasp of the shark, and died in front of his father.

In the viral video, Popov’s father watched the fatal attack in horror, which was also filmed from the shore, the report said. He can be heard screaming ‘Papa’ as some of the water turns red. His father stood helpless as his son fought for his life, desperately calling out for help.

Visuals from the spot show a huge splash and commotion in the water as the man is dragged under the water by the tiger shark. The man can be seen desperately trying to swim towards the shore but appears to be attacked by the shark while still in deeper waters, the video shows.
