The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority issued an alert of rainfall for the next five days, till the 8th of May.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) and Weather Forecast, the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh is also likely to witness a cyclone on the 9th of May.  Regions like Srikakulam, Parvathipuram, Manyam, Anakapalli, Allurisitaramaraju, Eluru, Chittoor, Tirupati and Annamayya districts witnessed a moderate to light rainfall, which is likely to be intensified in the next few days.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of formation of surface circulation in Southeast Bay of Bengal on the 6th of May, and would turn into a low pressure by the 8th of  May.    The circulation from the Bay of Bengal is expected to enter the South East Bay of Bengal and South Andaman Sea, turning into the cyclone. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, held a review meeting with the disaster management, and asked to ensure all the necessary precautions to control the rainfall situation.

Furthermore, the concerned district officials asked people and fishermen not to venture out in rain, especially in the coastal region.
