The Andhra Pradesh Police, on the 19th of October, filed a case against Vallabhaneni Vamsi, a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP.)

According to sources, Vallabhaneni Vamsi of Kannur district was alleged of distributing illegal land registration documents to voters during elections.  Vallabhaneni Vamsi is currently the sitting Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Gannavaram constituency.

Narasimha Rao, the Tahsildar of Bapulapadu and a member of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) filed the case against Vamsi.  Rao said Vallabhaneni forged his signature on land registration documents during the previous election and distributed the lands to the poor for gaining a majority of votes.

According to the complaint, thousands of houses were distributed in several villages, including Perikidu, Koiyur and Kodurupadu of Bapulapadu.

In the past few days, many leaders of the TDP were arrested in several cases.  While Chintamaneni Prabhakar is already in jail, Karanam Balaram, Chandramohan Reddy Somireddy and Kuna Ravi Kumar are involved in various police cases.

The AP Police arrested Vallabhaneni Vamsi and launched an investigation regarding the complaint.
