Besides the hospitality and tourism Industry, the film and entertainment industry is also suffering losses due to the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic. Theatres and cinema halls are closed for offline ticket bookings with a limited number of seats and staff.

In regard to the situation, Tollywood celebrities are scheduled to meet with Mr. Perni Nani, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Cabinet minister. The meeting is scheduled to be held on the evening of the 20th of September.

Another major reason to hold a meeting with the Tollywood stars is the recent allegations of the opposition that the YSRCP Government is selling movie tickets in black at high prices. However, the A.P., Transport Minister Mr. Perni Nani denied the allegations and said it to be propaganda of the opposition to defame the YSRCP. He also said the state administration had detected tax evasion and was attempting to reduce the number of black tickets issued and assured the matter would be resolved soon.

The Minister also said they would meet with the seniors of the Tollywood film industry and Film Federation officials to discuss the same.

According to sources, a Tollywood celebrities delegation led by Megastar Chiranjeevi and Akkineni Nagarjuna would meet with the A.P., Minister. The team would discuss the issues related to the film fraternity, reopening theatres and cinema houses for the public.

The meeting was originally scheduled to take place in the month of August, but was postponed due to some unknown reasons

Producers and celebrities like Mr. Allu Arvind, Mr. Daggubati Suresh Babu, Mr. Dil Raju and others would be a part of today’s meeting.
