On the 21st of February, Mr. Mekapati Goutham, the Information Technology (IT) Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) passed away.

According to sources, Mr. Mekapati Goutham died due to a heart attack on Monday morning. He complaint chest pain, following which his family rushed him to the Apollo Hospital (Hyderabad.) He was immediately taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) but doctors declared him dead immediately after admitting.

Notably, Mr. Mekapati Goutham recently, on the 19th of February, returned from Dubai. He was in Dubai to hold meetings with investors for Andhra Pradesh and the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government, aiming at IT developments.

Mr. Mekapati Goutham was two times Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Atmakur and served as minister in the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Cabinet.

Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, expressed shock over the demise of Mr. Mekapati Goutham and extended condolences.

Mr. Sridhar Reddy, the Nellore Rural Legislator, expressed condolences and said, “A pleasing personality with affable manners, Gautham Reddy is non controversial and never criticises either his distractors or opposition parties. It is an irrepressible loss.”

Mr. Mekapati Goutham is survived by his wife and a son.
