Enhancing the Aarogyasri Scheme in Andhra Pradesh, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government has decided to add more treatments under the health scheme.

On the 2nd of August, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, decided to further strengthen the Aarogyasri scheme and include approximately 700 treatments for the beneficiaries. 

Under the State-run Aarogyasri Scheme, beneficiaries get free and best medical treatment for various diseases and health conditions including minor surgeries. With the enhancement, there would be an addition to the list of diseases, which would be treated under the scheme, sponsored by the Andhra Pradesh Government.

After the YSRCP came into power in 2019, they extended the benefits of the Aarogyasri Scheme to all families with an annual income below Rs.5 lakh.  Approximately, 1.40 crore families are getting free medical treatment, at more than 1,700 hospitals through this scheme. 

Apart from Andhra Pradesh, 137 private corporate hospitals and 17 super specialty hospitals in neighboring states are also under the Aarogyasri scheme, providing treatment to people of Andhra Pradesh in other states too. 

As of now, nearly 2,446 treatments are under the Aarogyasri scheme, efforts are being made to include another 700 types of treatments in the scheme.
