The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government started the YSR Pension Kanuka distribution.

The Andhra Pradesh Government led by Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, started the distribution today, the 1st of October. Under the YSR Pension Kanuka scheme, 60.80 lakh beneficiaries would get financial assistance from the YSRCP Government.

Benefits and eligibility of the scheme:

A monthly pension of Rs. 2,250 per month would be provided to toddy tappers, weavers, single women, fishermen and traditional cobblers.

Disabled persons, transgender and Dappu Artists receive a monthly pension of Rs. 3,000 per month.

People affected with Chronic Kidney Disease who are undergoing Dialysis in both Government and network hospitals receive Rs.10,000 per month.

Eligibility

The proposed beneficiary should be from a below poverty line (BPL) family holding White Ration card.

He/she shall be a local resident of the district.

He/she is not covered under any other Pension Scheme.

Elderly, (male or female), who are 60 years of age or above and are needy.

This time, due to the ongoing Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the distribution would be done door to door. The village secretariats started going to beneficiaries’ homes and distributing the pension.

The arrangements of the same were made under the supervision of Mr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister of A.P. On the 30th of September, he addressed the media and said, “Government had made all the arrangements as part of CM Jagan’s’ intention to provide pensions directly to the beneficiaries at their homes from the morning of October 1.”

The YSRCP Government released an amount of Rs. 1,420.48 crores for the YSR Pension Kanuka scheme.

Mr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said, “We are implementing biometric and iris policies for the identification of beneficiaries, as well as the RBIS system.”

According to sources, the State Government is likely to complete a 100 % pension distribution within three days. Village/ward secretariats have been given responsibility to distribute the money to every beneficiary. The pensions will be disbursed directly to the beneficiaries through 2.52 lakh volunteers across the State.
