The Andhra Pradesh (AP) Government is expected to allocate 20 % of the State Budget solely for welfare schemes.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of AP and the President of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) decided to allocate more than Rs. 40,000 crores for welfare schemes.

According to the Finance Department, the total budget of the State will be more than Rs. 2.2 lakh crores for the financial year 2019-2020.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced the Navaratnalu scheme, under which all the welfare schemes will be implemented.  The Navaratnalu scheme includes the nine promises made by Jagan Mohan Reddy during the election campaign. The officials of the Finance Department are still finalising the budget and the funds every department will be allocated for welfare schemes.

E.S.L. Narasimhan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, on the 11th of July, will address a joint sitting of the Assembly.

Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, the Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh, will present the State budget on the 12th of July.
