Gautam Sawang, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 23rd of May, announced to release  all the vehicles seized during the lockdown.

According to the announcement, all the motorcycles and four wheelers seized during the lockdown for violating the lockdown guidelines would be released.

A nationwide lockdown was imposed on the 24th of March, as a part of precautionary measure to control the spread of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

A large number of police personnel were deployed to ensure no one violates the rules and come outside their houses without any emergency need.In regard to this, the Andhra Pradesh police seized thousands of bikes and charged motorists for violating the rules.

However, in the 4th lockdown, which started on the 18th of May, the Central Government announced a few relaxations in the guidelines.  Following these guidelines, the State Police decided to release all the vehicles.

Owners of the seized vehicles are asked to contact the respective police station and submit all the documents related to the vehicles and take their vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Police (SPs) are asked  to release the vehicles after verification.

The 4th lockdown implemented on the 18th of May is proposed to end on the 31st of May.
