Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 12th of July, conducted a review meeting about the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) or Wuhan virus.
During the meeting, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders discussed the ongoing situation, COVID-19 vaccination drives, cases and curfew timings. Considering the current situation, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy took several crucial decisions to control the spread of the virus. The A.P., CM directed the authorities to implement the same curfew relaxations in all the districts of A.P., from the 13th of July.
Therefore, from the 13th of July, the curfew relaxations would be from 6:00 A.M., to 10:00 P.M.
In addition, the operation of shops and other establishments would be open from 6:00 A.M., to 9:00 P.M., providing an hour to reach their homes. In addition, from 10:00 P.M., to 6:00 A.M., the State would be under strict lockdown until further notice.
Previously, the curfew timings were different for different districts. Of the 13 districts in A.P., only 8 were given relaxation timings till 9:00 P.M., whereas the remaining 5 districts including East Godavari and West Godavari were given relaxation timing till 6:00 P.M.
Concluding the review meeting, the State Chief Minister directed officials to ensure everyone, including people and shops are following all the guidelines of the COVID-19 pandemic. He asked the concerned officials to strictly enforce Coronavirus guidelines such as wearing masks, sanitization and social distancing and if anyone violates the guidelines, they would face strict actions like fines and closure of shops.
In addition, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to impose section 144 (restricting gathering of more than 4 people) across the State.
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh there are 19,22,843 positive cases, of which 28,680 active cases, 18,81,161 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,231 deceased.
