Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) inaugurated the Akshaya Patra Centralised Kitchen, on the 18th of February, Friday.

The kitchen has been set up by ISKCON in Atmakur of Mangalagiri Mandal, which would prepare food for lunch in schools. Named as “State of the art kitchen” the Akshaya Patra Foundation established the kitchens in several districts of Andhra Pradesh, providing meals for school students. This is the largest project of Andhra Pradesh, on behalf of ISKCON, set up at a cost of Rs. 70 crores.

Notably, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) roped in ISKON, Akshaya Patra Foundation for providing nutritious and hygienic food to pre-primary and primary school students, for mid-day meal scheme. The established modular kitchens in the State would provide Government prescribed food and an egg to students of government schools in the Telugu State.

Ahead of the inauguration, YSRCP ministers like Cherukuvada Sri Ranganatha Raju along with legislators Mr. Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, Mr. Lella Appireddy, Mr. Talasila Raghuram and Mr. M. Hanumtha Rao inspected the kitchen at Mangalagiri.

Meanwhile, besides inaugurating the modular kitchen, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would also hold bhoomi pujan at Harikrishna Gokula Kshetra, for the construction of Srivenkateswara Swamy and Radhakrishna temples in A.P.

Besides temples, the ISKON will also construct a training center for youth and yoga meditation centers to perform traditional dances, worth Rs 70 crores.
