On the 30th of June, Wednesday, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, extended wishes to athletes of Andhra Pradesh participating in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

In the Tokyo Olympics 2020, players like P.V. Sindhu, R. Satvik Sairaj and Ms. Rajini are from Andhra Pradesh. While P.V. Sindhu and R. Satvin Sairaj are badminton champions, Rajini Etimarpu is in the Women’s Hockey team.

The players except Ms. Rajini met with Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) camp office in Tadepalli, A.P. During the meeting, the State Chief Minister extended wishes and handed over a cheque of Rs. 5 lakhs each to the players.

While Ms. Rajini was in Bangalore for her training, her father met with Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy and accepted the cheque on her behalf. In addition, Jagan Mohan Reddy also handed over the land allocation papers to P.V. Sindhu for her badminton academy in Visakhapatnam, A.P. The badminton champion is soon going to open a badminton academy in Visakhapatnam. For the opening of the academy, the YSRCP Government allocated 2 acres of land in the City.

Meanwhile, today’s meeting with Olympic players was attended by Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, the Tourism, Culture and Youth Advancement Minister of A.P., the Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department Ram Gopal and other officials.

In 2020, the Tokyo Olympics were cancelled due to the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic, due to which in 2021, the Tokyo Olympics 2020 has been organised. The Tokyo Olympics 2020 is scheduled to begin from the 23rd of July and would end on the 8th of August.
