Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) decided to pay compensation to the families, who lost their kin due to the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

On the 26th of October, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government issued an order to pay Rs. 50,000 ex gratia to COVID-19 victims. The amount would be given under the Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Fund. In regard to this, the State Government formed a special cell, which would compile a list of people who died due to COVID-19, following which they would pay the ex gratia amount to the deceased’s families.

Mr. Anil Kumar Singhal, the Chief Secretary of Medical Health Department of A.P., issued guidelines for the same. As per the issued guidelines, each application would get a unique number and based on that, the district revenue officer would release the compensation amount. After the formalities and application clearance, the ex gratia amount of Rs. 50,000 would be given within two weeks duration.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Government is working hard to combat the cases of the Wuhan virus and handling the situation in a organised manner. A.P., is also one of the states with the maximum number of fully vaccinated people in India. Approximately 30.5 % population of A.P., are fully vaccinated against the deadly Wuhan virus infection.

In addition, in the past few days, the State reported fewer cases of COVID-19, taking the active cases below 5,000 , which is currently 4,830.
