Another Telugu Desam Party (TDP) member is expected to join the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)

Sidda Raghava Rao, a senior TDP leader Sidda Raghava Rao is going to resign the TDP and join the opposition, the YSRCP.  The news came to light after Sidda Raghava Rao was seen meeting a few senior YSRCP leaders.

Mr. Rao is expected to wear a YSRCP scarf on the 14th of March in front of YSRCP, President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and other leaders.  However, an official announcement regarding Rao’s joining the YSRCP is yet to be made.

Sidda Raghava Rao was with the TDP since the 2014 bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and also served as one of the cabinet ministers of the TDP.   

In 2019, Sidda Raghava Rao wanted to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Darsi.  However, due to some political issues he had to contest from the Ongole constituency  and lost.

The political turmoil with the TDP leaders came at a time when Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) is going to conduct local bodies elections and municipal elections.

The State municipal elections are scheduled to be held at the end of  March, from the 223rd to the 29th of March.
