On the 5th of September, a group of people were travelling to Ongole from Kondapi Mandal of Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. 

All the people were on their way to an obituary program when their vehicle met with an accident.  The incident took place on Saturday afternoon when an empty tipper lorry in full speed hit the auto rickshaw.

Soon after the incident, locals and police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital.

Ten people, including the driver of the auto rickshaw were injured and shifted to the General Government Hospital (GGH) Ongole. 

All the people are residents of Gurrapadiya village in Kondapi mandal.

Sub Inspector of Kondapi, Rambabu, the injured were identified as the family members of Kadiyam Kondaiah.   Injured people are said to be Medida Kotilingamma, Medida Ankamma, Dasari Hanumayamma, Palle Ramalakshmi, Medida Rosamma, Medida Balakotamma, Gangula Ravanamma, Medida Seshamma, Palle China Ankamma, and Medida Peramma.  The auto driver was identified as Makkena Seshubabu. 

As of now, all the injured are being treated at GGH of Ongole.  The doctors announced two women to be in a critical condition.

The Kondapi police registered a case under relevant section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)  and started an investigation.
