The Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy’s last rites is being held today, the 23rd of February, Wednesday.

The final rites of Mr. Goutham Reddy was delayed for two days, as his son was to arrive from the United States. After his arrival, the funeral procession of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Minister started from Mekapati’s residence in Nellore at 6:00 A.M. The procession would pass through Buchi, Sangam, Nellorepalem, Marripada, Badvelu border via Jonnawada from the National Highway to reach Udayagiri via Brahmanapalli, Krishnapuram and Nandipadu.

According to sources, the last rites of Mr. Mekapati Goutham Reddy would be held at 11:30 A.M., ar Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy Engineering College in Udayagiri. It is to be noted, the A.P., Minister would be cremated with sandalwood sticks and his final rites would be held with full state honours.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy, the Udayagiri Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA,) the YSRCP Minister Mr. Anil Kumar Yadav and the District Collector Mr. Chakradhar Babu reached there and completed the arrangements. The helipad was inspected in the view of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh’s arrival, to attend the funeral.

Besides, Guntur Inspector General (IG) Mr. Trivikram Varma and Superintendent of Police (SP) Mr. Vijaya Rao conducted the review with police officials.

They assured that no ruckus or tensions along with traffic issues would happen in Udayagiri for peaceful last rites of Mr. Goutham Reddy.

The Information Technology Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Mekapati Goutham passed away on the morning of the 21st of February, Monday. The 50 year old Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Atmakur died due to a cardiac arrest.
