Mr. K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu, the district collector of Nellore, geared up for a heavy to very heavy rain alert in the district.

It is to be noted, due to the cyclonic alerts in Chennai, the Indian Meteorological Department issued a rainfall alert in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore region, for the next few days.  As per the weather forecast, rainfall is predicted in mostly low lying regions and people residing in the low lying areas have been evacuated as a precautionary measure from flood situations.

Holding a review with officials of the concerned departments, Mr. K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu held a meeting with the district administration and warned of alerts from the weather department over the rains.  During the meeting, the concerned officials discussed measures, deployment of officials and other necessary arrangements to avoid floods.

The District Collector Mr. K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu said there were chances of 30-40 cm of rainfall in the coming four days and asked the officials to be attentive.  He also asked the officials to arrange control rooms in all coastal mandals for timely communication with the central control room at the district headquarters to support the relief measures.
