In a shocking event, thirteen bullets of a revolver/pistol were found on a woman passenger, at Visakhapatnam Airport, Andhra Pradesh.

On the 5th of October, a 60 year old woman was travelling from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad. During the security check and luggage check, bullets were recovered from her bag, for which she did not have license or documents. She was immediately taken to the Airport Police Station, following which Visakhapatnam Police was informed about the same.

After an initial investigation, the woman has been identified as Tripurani Sujhatha. When asked about the whereabouts of the bullets, Ms. Tripurani Sujhata said that she is unaware of the bullets in her bag.

She further said, her late uncle owned a weapon and after his death, her uncle’s wife started staying with her. She also suggested that it might be possible that her late uncle’s wife must have packed the items in her bag, without her knowledge.

As of now, the Visakhapatnam Police registered a case against her under Section 25 (1B) of the Arms Act.

The matter is under investigation.
