The violence-hit Amalamapuram region, which is also the headquarters of the newly formed Konaseema district, reported an unfortunate incident.

On the 28th of May, Saturday, at least 4 people were killed after a building collapsed. The incident occurred in Mulakaledu village, Shetturu Mandal of Anantapur district after a cylinder blast caused a building to collapse.

The four deceased people include two women and a three-year-old child. The deceased were identified as Jainabi (60,) Dadu (36,) and Sharfunni (28). Two more sustained severe burn injuries and are being treated at a nearby hospital in Amalapuram. Besides four lives, property damage to the neighborhood was also reported due to the cylinder blast.

Meanwhile, locals informed the police about the incident and they rushed to the spot.

As of now, police launched a  rescue operation and investigation into the tragic accident.
