In Andhra Pradesh’s Atchutapuram Mandal, 6 students drowned in Pudimadaka beach, on the 29th of July, Friday.

A group of 12 students reportedly from the Dadi Institute of Engineering and Technology (DIET,) went for a dive in the Pudimadaka sea, after their engineering exam.  While seven of them went to dive, the remaining five were near the beach.  After a while, due to a sudden wave, they feared to be drowned.  The other students waiting near the shore immediately rushed to the locals and asked for help.  A police team also rushed to the spot and rescued one student, who is currently being treated at the King George Hospital.

Furthermore, the Anakapalli district police conducted a search operation to fish out the bodies of the students. The police team could recover 3 bodies, whereas the  search for the remaining 3 bodies is still underway.  The deceased whose bodies were recovered from the sea were identified as Pawan, Jagadish, and Ganesh.  Notably, one body was fished out on Friday night, the 29th of July and two were fished out on Saturday morning, the 30th of July. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh expressed shock over the incident and directed the officials to extend all the necessary help to the deceased’s families.
